A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab

You know those books, which you read and read till you finish it and realise that you've been holding your breath all along? This is one of those books. A Darker Shade of Magic, the first part of a trilogy by Victoria Schwab, revolves around a boy (He's in his early 20s so, 'man'?) who lives in a world which he calls called Red London, one of the four parallel worlds, others being White, Grey and Black London. The boy, Kell, is two of a kind and has the unique ability to travel to these worlds and acts as a messenger to the four rulers. But then something wrong happens and now Kell is the only one who can fix it.

I LOVED this book. You can say that this book is officially one of my favorites (and the term 'favorite' does not hang loosely when I say it) Victoria Schwab has such a profound writing style and the way she brings all the parts of the plot together is so beautiful, each fragment having it's own story. I love the characters, slightly based on the many characters I have read but they had this unique touch to them and that's what I liked the most.
The only thing I didn't like was that I had to read it on the kindle (I prefer reading a hard-copy) so still waiting for the prices of the first and second book to come down on Amazon (Amazon if you're reading this (though it is unlikely) The! books! are! so! expensive!)
