the blue sky fades into a shade of grey and clouds foregather and let down a fierce shower, quenching the thirst of starving farmers and summer dried trees; the local tea stall crowded with tired people seeking fleeting comfort, sipping chai with too much milk and elaichi specially for the damp weather; children soaking and drenching themselves in these monsoon showers, splashing in puddles and getting scolded by their grandmother for doing so though she tries to hide the nostalgia she feels as she watches a reflection of her own childhood in blood and skin; road trips to the mountain which has a blanket of bright green, almost as if one must've spilled watercolours over it, waterfalls pouring from the curves, the smell of fresh earth everywhere and saplings awaiting to sprout; some sitting by the window listening to the clouds sob, ink soaking on the notebook filled with musings, thoughts threaded into words, inspired by none other than this beautiful weather itself.

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab
You know those books, which you read and read till you finish it and realise that you've been holding your breath all along? This is one of those books. A Darker Shade of Magic, the first part of a trilogy by Victoria Schwab, revolves around a boy (He's in his early 20s so, 'man'?) who lives in a world which he calls called Red London, one of the four parallel worlds, others being White, Grey and Black London. The boy, Kell, is two of a kind and has the unique ability to travel to these worlds and acts as a messenger to the four rulers. But then something wrong happens and now Kell is the only one who can fix it.
I LOVED this book. You can say that this book is officially one of my favorites (and the term 'favorite' does not hang loosely when I say it) Victoria Schwab has such a profound writing style and the way she brings all the parts of the plot together is so beautiful, each fragment having it's own story. I love the characters, slightly based on the many characters I have read but they had this unique touch to them and that's what I liked the most.
The only thing I didn't like was that I had to read it on the kindle (I prefer reading a hard-copy) so still waiting for the prices of the first and second book to come down on Amazon (Amazon if you're reading this (though it is unlikely) The! books! are! so! expensive!)

the winery
once she crept into the dining-room and found it empty, though a partly finished meal was on the table and chairs and plates looked as if they had been hastily pushed back when the diners rose suddenly for some reason. the child ate some fruit and biscuits, and being thirsty she drank a glass of wine which stood nearly filled. it was sweet, and she did not know how strong it was. very soon it made her intensely drowsy, and she went back to her nursery and shut herself in again, frightened by cries she heard in the huts and by the hurrying sound of feet. the wine made her so sleepy that she could scarcely keep her eyes open and she lay down on her bed and knew nothing more for a long time.

we visited this winery yesterday which had pretty furniture and tasted different types of wine. as a fourteen year old i found every single one of them horrible.

i really like it when rain suddenly starts to fall. and it becomes very heavy. so while the dried laundry became wet again and the plants took a shower, i made a notebook. a notebook! (rather amateur though) after hours of trying i finally made a notebook which you can actually use! i took these browns sheet of paper which i found sitting lonely in the cupboard eating dust and sewed it up which some cardboard and newspaper covering (with comics in it) which i whitewashed and put leaves on. but then the stems of the leaves fell off so i put some wild flowers instead.
also, i am currently reading a really good book and it's exciting so far; so good that i absolutely must read in school in secret during class.
i am also re-reading The Perks of being a Wallflower. i think everyone should read it. and have watercolours, magnetic poetry and a harmonica.
